Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 18, 2026

PolyMetronome ("we", "our", or "the app") is a metronome application developed by Fernando Javier Cuadro. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

The app automatically creates an anonymous account through Firebase Authentication to enable core functionality. No personal information is associated with this account. If you choose to link a Google account, we additionally collect your email address. Your account identifier is used to sync your settings and data across devices.

Subscription Information

When you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We do not have access to your payment details (e.g., credit card number). RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts to verify your subscription.

Usage and Crash Data

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. This data helps us understand how the app is used and fix issues. This includes:

Cloud Sync Data

If you sign in, your app settings, metronome scores, practice logs, and subscription status are stored in Firebase Firestore to enable syncing across your devices. This data is associated with your user account.

Local Network Sync

The app includes an optional local network sync feature that allows multiple devices on the same WiFi network to synchronize metronome playback in real time. This feature uses local network discovery (UDP/TCP) and does not send any data to external servers. The WiFi-related permissions (ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE) are used exclusively for this purpose.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures provided by Firebase and Google Cloud to protect your data. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
